Sangeet Bird
Om Kara Kriya®
2nd Year Diploma Graduate
Sangeet has completed her 2nd year studies for the Om Kara Kriya® Diploma and has a background in both Yoga and teaching.
Sangeet graduated from the University of Essex with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and holds a Certificate of Education. She is a very talented Poet and had a number of her poems accepted by the Editor of “Spectrum”.
Her Yoga practice was rounded out when her spiritual journey led her to the Ashram of Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaja’s Ananda Ashram.
In May 2009 at the Saraswati Retreat in Western Australia held under the auspices of Swami Alokanandaji, Swami Ajnanandaji, and Dr Jonn Mumford, Sangeet was privileged to receive Nama Diksha by the grace of Swami Alokanandaji. She joyously received the name 'Krsna Priya' which guides her on her path. It was an especial pleasure to meet her long-time teacher-Guru, Dr Mumford whose guidance and teachings of the Om Kara Kriya techniques (amongst the wealth of other wisdom) have so enriched her life.
Sangeet has been teaching Yoga since 2000 in Colchester, Essex, U.K. and offer private sessions, workshops and general classes which cater for small numbers.
Sangeet may be contacted regarding classes and private sessions on her landline 01206 330277 or by email [email protected]
Sangeet comments:
“As a child the devotional songs and stories my mother recounted to me from the Ramayana and Mahabharata stayed with me every minute of every day. My Yoga journey had begun and I continue along this path. My teachers have been many, including myself.
I spent a brief period working at Bush House in the World Service of the BBC, where I attended my first Hatha Yoga class. Since then I have continued with my physical yoga practice as well as my yoga journey whilst at the same time assisting my husband as a partner on our farm in the heart of the English Countryside where we still live.
Yoga, in my view, is not merely physical postures, but a way of life: dharma and karma, my Ishta Devatas.”
